About this reading tracker
Log each book as you finish it — title, author, date, page count, and an optional star rating — and it's added to your year automatically, sorted into whichever year its finish date falls in. Set a yearly goal and a progress ring, pace note, and running stats (total pages, average rating) update immediately to reflect where you stand.
The pace note does real work: partway through the year it estimates how many books a month you need to average to hit your goal, and projects roughly where your current pace would land you by December 31 if it continues. A monthly bookshelf chart shows how your reading has been distributed across the year at a glance, useful for spotting a slow month or a big binge.
A live "year in books" card builds itself as you log, ready to download as a shareable image any time — total books, pages logged, average rating, best month, and a small row of book-spine colors, styled like an actual shelf. Switch between years using the selector at the top; past years show a final tally instead of an in-progress pace note, and future years simply note that they haven't started yet.
Everything is saved automatically on this device; nothing is uploaded anywhere except the image you explicitly choose to download.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to set a yearly goal?
No, it's optional. Without a goal, the tracker still logs books and shows your stats and shelf — the goal just adds a progress ring and a pace projection.
How is the "on track for" projection calculated?
It takes your books-finished-so-far divided by how far into the year you are, then projects that same rate across the full 12 months. It's an estimate based on your current pace, not a guarantee.
Can I track multiple years?
Yes, use the year selector at the top. Each year keeps its own goal, book list, and stats; past years show a final tally instead of an in-progress pace note.
Does the share card update automatically?
Yes, it redraws live as you log books or change your goal. Download it any time to get the current snapshot as an image.
Is my book log saved or uploaded anywhere?
It's saved locally on this device automatically. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, aside from the share-card image you explicitly choose to download.
