About this bookmark maker
Bookmarks are one of the few printables where the physical size genuinely matters — too wide and it will not sit inside a paperback, too tall and it sticks out and gets bent. This tool works in real millimetres from a set of standard sizes (5×15 cm and 2×6 in are the usual choices) and tells you exactly how many fit on your page rather than guessing.
Type your quotes with a blank line between each one and every bookmark gets its own text, with line breaks preserved so you can control where a quote wraps. If you only want one design, leave "repeat text to fill" switched on and the sheet fills with copies. Leave the box empty entirely and you get blank bookmarks to write or draw on, which is what most people printing for a classroom actually want.
Cut guides come in three styles. A solid outline is easiest to follow with scissors, a dashed line reads clearly as "cut here" without looking like part of the design, and corner crop marks are the convention on print-ready artwork — they sit just outside each corner so no line prints on the bookmark itself, which is what you want if you are cutting with a guillotine or craft knife against a ruler. A separate decorative border can be added inside the bookmark, independent of the cut guide.
An honest note about how many fit: the print safety allowance this site uses on every sheet means a 50 mm bookmark gives three across on A4 portrait, not four. Landscape gives four. Slimmer bookmarks or a smaller gap fit more, and shorter ones stack into multiple rows. The tool computes and reports the real number for your exact settings, and if you pick a bookmark taller than the page can hold it says so plainly instead of printing an empty sheet.

Frequently asked questions
How do I give each bookmark different text?
Separate them with a blank line. Each block becomes one bookmark, and line breaks within a block are kept exactly as you type them.
Why do only three fit across on A4?
Once the printer's unprintable edge and your page margin are taken off, an A4 portrait page has about 168 mm of usable width — enough for three 50 mm bookmarks plus gaps, not four. Use landscape for four, or a slimmer size.
Which cut guide should I use?
Solid outline for scissors, dashed if you want it obviously a cut line, and corner crop marks if you are cutting with a blade and ruler — those leave no printed line on the finished bookmark.
Will they print at the exact size I chose?
Only if your print dialog is set to 100% or "actual size". A "fit to page" or "shrink to fit" setting rescales the whole sheet, and the bookmarks will come out smaller than the size shown.
Can I print on card?
Yes, and it is worth it — bookmarks on ordinary paper go soft quickly. Check what weight your printer takes; most home printers manage 160–200 gsm through the manual feed.
